Genealogy of Jamaica is an aid to research on Jamaican Families and contains data on nearly 30,000 families, over 3000 photos plus numerous text files, all with Jamaican connections. Once installed on your PC you can add your own research and build your own family tree.

It is a result of several years of research and includes many extensive family trees, information extracted from Jamaican newspapers, articles etc., and data on our National Heroes, Christopher Columbus and other prominent people associated with Jamaica going back over several centuries.

It also includes approximately 7000 burial records at the St. Andrew Parish Church (1657-2000), and files listing names of several thousand slaves that were freed before official Emancipation. In many cases the reputed fathers are named. There are also some birth and death records extracted from official records.

The disc is for use on an IBM compatible computer, but there is a Gedcom file that can be imported for use with other genealogy programs (including MAC).

Jamaica has a very rich historic background and the pictures on this CD or DVD reflect our heritage as well as the natural beauty of the island. The variety of scenery and our horticulture is unique.

The 300 pictures include reproductions of paintings from the 18th and 19th centuries but mainly cover the period from 1955 - 2008. An island tour takes you through every Parish and there are pictures of places that have now disappeared with the passage of time. It should be of interest to Jamaicans at home or abroad, as well as to visitors who may wish to view the beauty of our island. The horticultural section includes a great variety of flowers and trees that grow in Jamaica

The CD or DVD will run for approximately 25 minutes.
