Jake's is located in a small fishing village, Treasure Beach in St. Elizabeth, on the serene south coast of Jamaica.

Jake's is for the artist, the writer, the discriminating traveler who values peace and unstructured holidays, far from crowded tourist areas. This Outpost is family owned, operated, conceived, and constructed.

DINING

The restaurant at Jake's serves the best of Jamaica's spicy cuisine including Saltfish 'n Ackee, Rice & Peas, Escovitch Fish, Stewed Guavas and Banana Flambe. And for after-hours fun, the thatched roof bars and dance halls that are the real Jamaica are just down the road.

Continental breakfast is available for guests.

ACTIVITIES

  • Swim in the saltwater swimming pool.
  • Swim in Jake's private ocean cove or relax on the private beach.
  • Massage services are available in your private room.


  • Jakes Triathalon is an annual off-road event that takes place in April and draws athletes from around the world. This event is FREE, so send in an application.
  • Fishing in the Caribbean Ocean with local Treasure beach fishermen. The fishing trips are either pulling fish traps, trolling, or drop line. Fish likely to be caught are Snapper, Jack, King Fish, and Grouper which can be prepared in any way you desire at Jake's restaurant.
  • Snorkeling in the tropical reefs directly in front of the Outpost.
  • Boat rides can take you west along the scenic, unspoiled coast and up the Black River (the longest river in Jamaica) where you can enjoy bird watching, seeing crocodiles and other wildlife and learn about the different mangroves.
  • Y.S. Falls is located about 30 minutes from Jakes, a spectacular series of cascades that must be seen.




  • Duggie, the man at the bar, mixes a wicked rum punch and is the man to see to make the most of your Jamaican holiday.
  • Canoe rides
  • Costal walks along Back Sea Side, an area of vast open Savannah sloping down to the sea. Sheep, goats, and cows are usually grazing on these plains.
  • Tours of the Appleton Estate, a sugar estate located about 30 minutes away. Here you can tour a distillery and see how rum is made from sugar cane.
  • Jakes has their own mountain bikes and offers four different Mountain bike tours ranging from picnics on a secluded beach, to rides along the Malvern mountain range, Great Bay Bluff, and Lovers Leap (helmets provided).
  • Jake's ocassionally has poetry readings on full moon nights.
  • Every October, Jake's hosts the 'Hook and Line' fishing tournament where guests can go fishing with local fisherman to try to catch the biggest King Fish, Baracuda, or Jack Fish.
